SubCtech GmbH has officially completed its move into its new headquarters at Fraunhoferstraße 17 in Kiel, Germany — marking a major milestone in the company’s continued growth and international expansion.
The new facility consolidates all previous locations into one central site and provides approximately four times the combined space of the company’s former offices and production areas. Today, nearly 100 employees from engineering, production, R&D, project management, procurement, software development, and administration are fully moved in and operational.
The expansion reflects the rapid growth of SubCtech in recent years, driven by increasing global demand for advanced subsea power systems, lithium-ion batteries, and large-scale underwater energy storage solutions.
The new headquarters has been specifically expanded to support the next generation of subsea technologies and offshore energy systems. In addition to significantly rising production and assembly capacities, the site offers modern engineering workspaces, dedicated testing areas, logistics infrastructure, and optimized collaboration across departments.
“This move is an important strategic step for SubCtech,” says CEO Stefan Marx. “Bringing all teams together under one roof allows us to increase efficiency, accelerate innovation, and scale our production capabilities for future projects worldwide.”
SubCtech has evolved from a specialized engineering company into a leading provider of subsea energy solutions for offshore oil & gas, renewable energy, autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), carbon capture & storage (CCS), defence sector and environmental monitoring applications.
A major driver behind this growth has been the development of SubCtech’s modular Subsea Energy Storage System (ESS), one of the world’s first large-scale subsea battery storage systems operating in real offshore environments. The company’s technologies contribute to reducing offshore emissions, minimizing vessel operations, and enabling more sustainable subsea infrastructure.
The new facility in Kiel creates the foundation for further international growth, expanded manufacturing capacity, and future product development. It also strengthens SubCtech’s long-term commitment to innovation, quality and sustainable technologies for the marine environment.
SubCtech GmbH is part of the Gabler Group AG and continues to support customers worldwide with advanced subsea battery systems, energy storage technologies, and autonomous underwater solutions.
