Environmental sustainability

We take our social, economic and environmental responsibility seriously. We act future-orientated in regards of environmental and social issues. We support social facilities, especially for kids as we are convinced that „Kids are our future“. We provide opportunities for young people, students and researchers to get insight in working life and subsea technology.

SubCtech supports the following organizations and projects with direct financial aid:

The German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS: Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Rettung Schiffbrüchiger) was founded on 29 May 1865. Ever since it has carried out search and rescue missions along the German North Sea and Baltic Sea coasts – independently and accepting sole responsibility.

GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel is one of the world’s leading institutes in the field of marine science. GAME – a programme for the worldwide implementation of identical experiments across geographical and climatical boundaries. GAME-research projects study the effects of global change on habitats in coastal waters. GAME is part of an international training programme that combines applied research with training for young scientists.

National Institute of Technology (NIOT) is organizing a competition for students to visualize and design an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV). The main focus of this Student AUV (SAVe) competition is to involve students in the new frontier areas of ocean technology and kindle their innovative thinking in this unexplored area of ocean environment and observation.

Sabine Heuck is an artist who allows the world to pervade her. Looking at her pictures is like walking along houses or trees and suddenly catching a glimpse of the far distance in a space between them. Fleeting impressions, combining lightness and depth.

Autonomous underwater robotics is an exciting challenge in engineering, which participants get to experience at SAUVC (Singapore). The competition is great learning ground for participants to experience the challenges of AUV system engineering and develop skills in the related fields of mechanical, electrical and software engineering. SubCtech supports SAUVC since 2016.

United Internet for UNICEF Millions of children worldwide have almost no access to education or medical care. Many suffer from exploitation and violence. As one of the leading international internet service providers, United Internet undertakes the obligation to improve children’s standards of living, together with UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund. The creation of a protective environment for children throughout the world in which they can grow up in health and safety is one of the most important investments we can make in the future.
